This is love
What better way to celebrate a new website
than a song by PJ Harvey?
There are good pop songs and there are great pop songs, but some achieve a purity that can be envied but never faked. PJ Harvey’s ‘This is love’ is one of them.
Dressed in a fringed white suit (like Elvis Presley in Vegas, circa 1969) and snarling and pouting with the wide red gash of her mouth, PJ is still unmistakeably an artful English eccentric. Her act is tongue-in-cheek yet utterly sincere in feeling. The strange attraction of her jolie-laide face is in tune with this performance, and she plays it for all it is worth.
